How we use your data in this test

What we collect. Your email address, your name if you give it, your reasons and goals for learning Spanish (including anything you write under “Other”) and your answers.

What for. To calculate your estimated level, email you the result and recommend one of our two teachers. We do not use it for marketing. Recommendations are shared evenly between the teachers; your answers do not decide which one.

Where it goes. Your result is emailed to you. A notice with your name, email address, estimated level, reasons, goals, recommended teacher and the date of your consent is sent to our inbox (Gmail, a Google service). The website keeps only a coded form of your email address with the recommended teacher and the dates of your tests and consent, so you get the same teacher if you retake the test. Google and our website host may store data outside Colombia.

How long. We delete the notice in our inbox within 6 months, and the website deletes its coded record automatically 12 months after your first test.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to sipnspeakspanish@gmail.com. You can also complain to Colombia’s data-protection authority, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (www.sic.gov.co).
